It felt good to hang an art show for the first time since this pandemic started. Mahalo: ( l – r) Susan Callahan Kang, Sara Yukako, Jessica Orfe, Tae Ja Koki, Liz Corbin and Betsy Poulos. Edd Harnas helped hang and took this picture as well.
The 2021 Association of Hawaii Arists’ Contemporary Show is hung at the Honolulu Country Club, 1690 Ala Pu’umalu Street until December 19.

Sumida featured at DAC

Barbara Sumida, award-winning AHA artist and Hospitality Co-Chair with Frances Wong has 12 pieces featured as part of the Out In The Elements show June 30 – July 31 at DAC.  Sumida’s daughters have allowed the work to be shown. The exhibit of raku ceramics and plein air paintings also included painting and ceramics demonstration and workshops on Saturdays and Sundays. AHA artists in the show included: Dwayne Adams, Lynne Boyer, Ed Brennan, Alla Parsons, Wendy Roberts, Donna Sommer, Barbara Tinius, Roger Tinius, and Frances Wong.
